#177 Krombacher – Krombacher Pils

KrombacherName: Krombacher
Brewery: Krombacher Privatbrauerei Kreuztal
Style: Pilsner
ABV: 4.8%
Source: Te Aroha Countdown

– Cheap ($2.99)
– Big (750ml)
– German (so your friends think you’re fancy)
– Better than Steinlager, Heineken, Stella et al.

– Watery
– No real aroma
– No real taste
– Too sweet

Apologies, but I’m feeling so unenthused about beer after three days of drinking crap that I can only bring myself to describe it in list form. This beer has an even number of pros and cons, which means it was neither good nor offensive. It was simply there.

Need. Good. Beer. Now.

(Please send help, preferably in the form of beer.)

  1. 173 where are you ????

    • Arg! Totally forgot to blog #173 but will do now. (Chaotic times on Beer for a Year.)

  2. Where do I send the best home brew ever for you to try?

    • Hooray! If you give me your email I’ll send you my address 🙂

  3. It seems fitting that you have reached this low point of average beer today of all days, because today is Festy, our annual homebrew festival (well the second one ever actually). I’ll have a chat to brewers (12 of) , I think we can help. I’m sure we can find at least one out of the 25 that you’ll like.

  4. There was only 21 beers in the end…. good though. Favourites were The figness pale ale, Armageddon clone, raspberry regrett ( raspberry wheat), miguels red ale, bens telemore ale. We would love to have some reviewed on the blog. Happy to post some if you are running low on options.
